As far as I know, the MkII cars came with the wide ratio box. Many have fitted
the earlier Tigers with the wider spaced ratios and most who have done so
believe it is the best solution to gearing, particularly in a street oriented
application.
I have not seen the CAT six-bolt bracket, but if it is just a piece of
aluminum plate cut in the appropriate shape, expect it to flex when overcoming
pressure plate tension. This leads to poor pedal feel and funky clutch
engagement. Of course, I base this on my experience which is colored by my use
of a HD McCleod pressure plate. A stocker clutch or Centerforce may not
provide the same symptoms. I welded reinforcing ribs to the plate and it works
marginally OK.
