I'm going to one more car show this season; tomorrow, there's a
local show of about 50-60 various vehicles. At British-car events, most
folks seem to know what a Tiger is, but not so at "custom car shows",
whatever. I certainly don't mind fielding all of the "what's that"
questions, but it occurred to me to use a handout to educate the
populace. Just a one-page story on the car, something for the folks to
take home with them. I found one, but it had "no unauthorized
duplication allowed" across the bottom. I don't think what I intend is
what they meant, but why risk it?
Then I came across "The Tale of the Tiger", which I'm pretty
sure arrived with my TE/AE or CAT membership package. It looks like it
might have been a Rootes advertising piece way-back-when. It is _not_
one page, it is four, but not an insurmountable problem, our office
copier handles double sided 11x17 sheets, so I made 100 copies. Now,
this document does _not_ say anything about copyrights, so I'm figuring
it's OK to copy & distribute (not for profit). Not sure, though. And
does anyone know the history of this document?
BTW, I'm on the Digest & perhaps having troubles. Tuesday & got
nothing, then Wednesday, I got 3 Digests, for Mon-Tue-Wed. This morning,
I had a Microsoft Outlook error message, no Digest, cannot tell if it
wasn't sent out or got zapped by the server at this end. I would welcome
a forwarded copy even if it turns out to be a duplicate later.
Another thought on TE/AE's United XX. All I've heard, messages
both public and private, indicate a good event and a good time had by
all. Perhaps we should say so to those who contributed _other_ than
Tiger folk. If Kirk, Bill or another United team member posted
snail-mail addresses for our liaisons at the Holiday Inn, AnnMarie
Gardens, MIR, Burt's, even the Firehouse (!), and Mr. Singhaus, we could
all write and express our thanks, and leave a little good will behind
us. We all have stationery (mine has an Allard on it, haven't found
Sunbeam paper yet), I would think, and it wouldn't take that long. Just
a thought.
