Listers, As I recall the old Chrysler left handed studs had a "L" stamped into the end of them to remind you not to twist them off by turning the "right" way. Is this the case? If so, maybe Stuarts car did a little time in a Chrysler/Sunbeam repair facility back in the sixties for damaged wheel mounting studs, and the originals were replaced with a Chyrsler left handed model.
