Tiger rear shelf carpet

The original carpet in the rear shelf for my Tiger has large snaps that
fit in large holes (3/4") in the rear shelf.  The snaps that came with
the carpet are much smaller.  What have others done with this?  Just
plug the holes an use the smaller snaps?

Also, I have an early 260 2bbl that came with the car (maybe Tiger).  It
appears intact, but that's about all I know about it. Is there anyone in
the midwest who can use it?  I am near Omaha, Nebraska.
