hour
and a half inching along to get to the parking. >>
I probably should have posted this PRIOR to the event...
I have been to a number of the Monterey Hysterics, starting with the very
first in 1973 (at the ripe old age of 10!). Since the thing has turned into
such a feeding ground for the International Beautiful People, I have developed
the following game plan:
1. Plan on having your full day be Friday. Take in the Concours Italiana (no
Tigers, but plenty of cool Italian stuff), then go over to Laguna around
1:00PM and catch practice for the vintage races. Parking is no problem and you
can walk around the pits and see everything up close in a much more relaxed
atmosphere.
2. Blow off Saturday. Go to the beach or sit up on the deck at the Highlands
Inn and contemplate metaphysics while looking at the horizon.
3. Maybe catch some races on Sunday, while the I.B.Ps are doing the Pebble
scene.(Sunday is MUCH easier at the track)
If you forget any of the above, please do not fail to remember #2.
