I had asked the list about Tigers racing in Northern CA sometime this
year and was pointed in the direction of Laguna Seca later this summer
or early fall. Subsequently found the following:
http://www.laguna-seca.com/hist.htm
which tells all about the Monterey Historic Automobile Races, August 14,
15, and 16. Here's a cut:
"The full schedule of racing can only be described as awesome. From the
glorious
days of the "Can-Am Series to the beginnings of motorsport in
the early 1900s,
fans will see McLarens and Lolas, Porsches and Ferraris,
Bugattis and Mercers, Corvettes and Cobras.
The Monterey Historic Automobile Races offers competitors the
opportunity to race through Laguna
Seca's challenging 2.238 mile, 11 turn road course, and these
drivers take it seriously. The sight of these
classic cars roaring by and the sound of the unrestricted
engines rowing will rekindle the glory days of
racing, which is what this weekend is all about. Begin planning
now, as tickets and hotel rooms go early
for this memorable weekend on the Monterey Peninsula. "
Hope to see some Tigers there.
