Thanks to whoever brought up the subject of air cleaners. It reminded me
that I have been putting off the search for what I think will be a most
difficult part to replace as I move my Mk1a restoration project along. I
badly need the BOTTOM of the original AC air cleaner. The PO (or one of
the PO's) decided to modify the bottom piece by cutting two irregular
patterns out from the inside towards the outside. My guess is that a
manual choke was fitted to the carb but to get the air cleaner to mount on
top the modifications had to be made. For this I will need help. Does
anyone on the list, by chance, have this piece available for sale? I would
be eternally grateful to anyone who would part with this elusive and
important air cleaner part.
