Food for thought while you are chewing on turkey:
A while back somebody said that our stock fans were located too far
into the shrouds, and that a lot of air was getting flung off the
blade tips inside and recirculating. Short of stretching our cars, or
bending the heck out of the shrouds, there's no way to cure this. Or
is there?
Has anyone thought of fabricating a lip to add to the shroud, that
would extend inward toward the radiator, to block the air being flung
off the blade tips, and prevent it from recirculating? I'm thinking
of a cylinder shaped device, about an inch high, and the diameter of
the shroud opening. I can see a potential down side here, where the
lip could restrict airflow at high speeds, but maybe there's some
compromise depth that would work.
Any thoughts?
