Item Subject: Re: Tiger parts car for an Alpine
Speaking of Gold Sunbeams (see below)...
At SUNI 1 there was an Alpine that had all of it's bright metals GOLD
PLATED. Gold bumpers, badges, Alpine script, wipers, door handles,
stuff in the engine compartment, etc. A bunch of kids did it, and one
of their fathers had a plating shop. As I recall, it was out of the
Northwest, Oregon, Washington or maybe B. C. Has this car ever
surfaced again?

Oh boy, am I in trouble. The original glue that was used has been banned
as a toxic material. Too many teen-agers were destroying their brains
sniffing it. I wonder how Jay got to be "certified".
New Plan. All connections on the model will be made with authentic Tiger
NOS rivets. Now, if I could only find a few hundred.
I once took a MG TC kit and used one of the great detail wire wheels to
make a lost-wax mold. Then cast the wire wheel in dental silver. Worked
great. If I could still get access to that equipment, I could make the
entire Tiger out of Silver or Gold. Wouldn't that be something.
