Most of the Sunbeam parts vendors sell repro aluminum 'Tiger Powered
by Ford' valve covers. CAT does too for quite a bit less money. I
don't know if they are the same as the rest, mine came from Sunbeam
Specialties.

I have purchased a 1987 302 to replace my original 260. The engine came
with a set of aftermarket polished aluminum valve covers ( new ) M U S T
A N G
POWERED BY FORD
I am looking for: T I G E R
POWERED BY FORD
anyone interested in a trade or
lead as to where I could purchase the tiger valve covers.
I
have a set of windsor jr heads I will be installing on the 302 which will
be installed in my Tiger. Does anyone have info. regarding rocker covers
which will clear roller rockers ( Harland Sharp 1.6 )which I have
installed in the heads ....and still clear the firewall? ( see above )
Second,
I am looking for a set of headers for the windsor jr heads ..... any info
would be appreciated.
P.S. Thanks to all regarding ring gap info.
>>>>>>> PLASMA MOLY RINGS INTO FORGED TRW ALUMINUM PISONS
The ring gaps on my engine were top = .017
second = .010
I will be regapping the second ring, there has been a major conflict of
opinions regarding the gaps ! A few big time engine builders do not
recommend the 2cd gap ( too tight ) where as a few claim it will not be a
problem ! I contacted speed pro ( now federal mogul ) and got two
different answers also ! .010 was approved by one " RING - ENGINEER " at
Federal Mogul for STREET driving, the other techenician stated .010 was
way too tight!
I proposed the sme question to users of the Dragnet web site... many
answers..all different!!!
I HAVE DECIDED TO PULL THE PISTONS AND REGAP TO BE SAFE.
Most likely I will open them up to .015-.017 .
I still have not decided if I will remove the pete Jackson gear drive. It
does sound as though the sound from the gear ( noisy ) will be too much
to bear as a street/daily driver.
As always thanks for your opinions and information.
Sincerely,
Kirt Jenssen
