All,
Recently the STOA Tiger Authentication Committee (TAC) held it's first
meeting of the year. Several topics were discussed; the following is a
summary of the discussions and results.
1) Due to other obligations, Mike Andres has stepped down as committee
chairman. Thanks to his efforts, approx. 250 Tigers have been authenticated.
2) The new TAC chairman will be, yours truly, Paul Reisentz, effective
immediately.
3) Establishment of the "TAC Information Hotline", Phone # 408-369-0470,
Monday evenings between the hours of 6:30 PM and 10:30 PM PST. This "hotline"
service is set up to answer questions about the TAC program, it's
administration, inspection procedures, upcoming TAC event schedules, vehicle
information, and anything else pretaining to the program. Discussions of
philosophy, "consensis" etc. are welcome.
4) Continuence of the "TAC on Wheels" program in the S.F. Bay area. This
program enables Tiger owners whose cars are not drivable a means by which
they can get their cars authenticated.
5) Expansion of the TAC program to areas outside the Bay area by first adding
new inspectors in Southern California and along the East Coast. Current
inspectors in training are Ramon Spontelli of Costa Mesa and Larry Holt of
Pennsylvannia. Three new candidates from the Pacific Northwest will also begin
training soon. Secondarily, we will then increase the number of events
providing TAC services in these three areas.
6) And lastly, reworking of the TAC section of the STOA website with new
section to include a list of all TACed Tigers by VIN # in numerical order.
'Til next time,
Paul Reisentz
Senior Inspector #14
