Jay, have to pick up on this amber tail light thread. It seems that Ralph
Nader rides again! I for one am not interested in an absolutely original
Tiger. Why?
a) I can't fit in them, (modified seat needed for me to drive a Tiger infirst
place).
b) They could use improvement (long list appropriate here).
c) Los Angeles Tiger (LAT) items were produced to modify your Tiger from
original, and they had some really cool stuff, (like the vents, hoods)
etc..but also performance improvement items. That has been the reality with
so many California car owners throughout automotive history.
Do it the way you want to! Originality is for resale, modifications and
customizations are for the Tiger driver, who wants to put his/her own mark on
a piece of history.
My take then is that if it works for YOU, do it, if it improves the way the
car runs or rides(handling, peformance)...do it. If it is just for the sake
of originality(navel lint), I for one don't really care too much for it at
all , although there are many who swear by it, they will be the ones to
continue picking it out , rolling it up, and tossing away eventually. -
