In the most recent Road & Track, on page 170, there is an ad for "Vintage
Neckware" by Dennis Simon. It shows four different styles of ties. There
is the Porsche version which is a jumble of 9 different 356's and 911's at
a various side and front angles in 4 or so different colors (on the
crowded side). There is a Ferrari version with 5 red Ferrari's and two
Ferrari emblems (not so crowded). There is a Monaco Grand Prix tie with
two cars racing towards you with a Monaco village scene behind them (not
crowded and kind of neat).
My thoughts after looking at these ties (IMHO) is that the tie should not
be crowded with too many cars or too many colors. It seems to make them
look to gimicky and not as sharp.
