Well, I've had a flood of messages! Thank you all for the kind words and
very helpfull advice on putting my busted kitty back together. This really
shows that there is indeed such a thing as an "electronic community" in the
best sense of the words.
I did some calculating today. I figured the fulcrum pin had only @340 hours
on the road. I only drive it 6 mo. of the year, so that's @2 1/2 seasons so
far. I'd be generous in allowing 5 hours a week use. So, it's (28+28+12)
=68 weeks use times 5 hrs a week, =340 hrs. That's a hideous mean time
between failure rate.
Yeah, I've been around Tigers for 17 years, and have never seen this
happen. I took some pictures of it tonight, and I'm going to have them
scanned for posting at the web sight. They're going to drop some jaws! This
was a total failure with out warning, and I'm really worried about other
people driving around with these parts. I'll keep you all informed as this
progresses. P.S. Any body out there know a good Metallurgist? I'd really
like to get this pin tested to determine why it failed. Y'all thing long
and hard before making any hard right turns!
