The June issue of Skinned Knuckles arrived in the mail yesterday and it
included article on the 2CV Citroen, which you may recall was the subject of
discussion on this list recently. Whether you love this homely little
beasties or hate them, you'll have to admit they are different. BTW,
the last 2CV rolled off of a Portuguese assembly line on 17 July, 1990
at 3:59 PM.
I couldn't tell whether the author of the article likes these cars or
just enjoys being pitied. He currently owns two 2CVs and is planning
on adding to his collection.
Some of the requirements for the 2CV when it was first being considered
for production were as follows:
I should be able carry a case of eggs over a plowed field without
damaging the eggs.
A lady should be able to crank start it without breaking her
fingernails.
One should be able to get in and out of it with a hat on.
Don't you wish the designers at Rootes had been so considerate?
