automatic trannys

Does anyone know about rebuilding automatic trannys?
i rebuilt a C4  1965 case and put a 1968 valve body in it.  i talked to a
couple of rebuilders about this combo and they said it would work.  i used
the 68 valve body because it has a different shift in 2nd to 3rd gears and
you cant put a shift kit in a 65.  any comments on this combo?  I also heard
