A little background.
I first became involved with the VSCDA in the mid 80's, attending races,
crewing for a number of Austin Healey racers. I participated in autocrosses.
In 1990, as the Midwest Regional Director of the Austin Healy Club of
America, I coordinated the highly successful Healey Challenge. I attended
my first VSCDA driver's school at the 1990 Blackhawk Farms event. I began my
wheel to wheel racing in 1993, and founded the well known, loosely knit
racing team, Team Thicko. Team Thicko has sponsored countless unofficial
trackside dinners & parties. Additionally, Team Thicko has officially
sponsored enduro lunches at Grattan, race group lunches at Road America, and
provided entertainment officially and unofficially at countless race
weekends. I was responsible for bringing special guest John Sprinzel to ELVF
on very short notice. I served the VSCDA as newsletter editor for 2 years.
For the last 2 years, my 20 piece big band has provided very era appropriate
music at ELVF for a token fee. I served as the Group 2 rep for a number of
years. I have attended board meeting for many years. I am a serious vintage
racer that prepares his own car, possesses the vintage spirit, and has a
driving record and lap times to prove it.
Professionally, I have more than 25 years of sales, marketing and management
experience, at the highest levels. My experience includes business
development, investor relations, contract negotiation, and international
distribution. I have attached my resume for consideration.
Best regards,
Wm. Severin Thompson
