Last we saw WST try to find his ass with both hands...
(Happy now?)
So, I moved the generator to the far back (it needs to come out anyway, so
not a big deal) and my tool box back behind the rear axle of the trailer,
positioned both cars ass end in first, and came up with 1000 lbs tongue
weight... right at limit. This is a good thing. I have not yet put 2 sets of
spare tires on the racks that are at the extreme rear of the trailer, so I
believe I have a margin of safety as to capacities and tongue weight. While
I could keep this set up permanantly, I'd rather have at least one car
(Redrum) nose first, otherwise I'll always have to shim it with a 2x4 as it
goes on the trailer. The exhaust on that car is too low. red Arse has a thru
the tunnel exhaust, so its not a problem to put that on ass end first.
Apparently Reese is now making a hitch that supports a 1700 lb tongue
weight. Since a slide in camper (8', not 10') is a future possibility, I may
have to look into that.
