wow, thanks for all the response guys..
everyone seems to be at a concensus that it involves leaking back through the
master to the pressure/vacuume system.
hmm....this dosnt seem to be a vacuume actuated system. but then again i'm not
used to truck mechanics. it runs somehow off the steering pump. i checked that
to see if there was brake fluid in it (steering reservoir), but couldnt quite
tell. it wasnt filling up anyways. There is no big vacuume chamber, just
lines running to the pump (checked for tightness). i think i will end up
replacing the master cylinder as a matter of course.
