I'm recently retired at age 62 from 40 years in manufacturing
management, working for Hyster, Clark, and then 20 years at John Deere.
My job took us to Illinois, Michigan, Massachusetts, the Netherlands,
Mexico, and Iowa. My last job before retirement was at the John Deere
Waterloo Iowa factory where the Big Green Machines are made, managing
production of final drive gears.
I've raced SCCA on and off since 1963, in a Sprite, TR3, FVee, FFord,
and now vintage TR4, and currently I support my racing habit by doing
work on other folks' cars - engines, transmissions, car prep, carbs,
etc. I share driving honors with son Tony in a blue / white stripe #59
TR4 with a Surrey top.
Good grief -- am I the oldest fart on the Thicko list? If so, does that
mean I win the "longest distance travelled" trophy?
