Just as a matter of clarification:
While Gary Speckman was in fact my instructor - and a good one in my book - I
also received instruction from Jim Donato regarding my over-use of the mirrors
and also instilling in me the trait of dedication to 'the Line' while under
pressure from faster cars. In my mind, both of these gentlemen were a class act
and contributed greatly to what I consider a successful 1st race weekend. I only
wish they both could have stayed for Sunday's sessions and got as goddamn
soakin' wet as I did driving in the pouring rain.
I was so stressed out that first morning of school due to the fast-paced
schedule. Besides that, I had a car I'd never driven - on a track I'd never seen
- with a brand spankin' new (unbedded) brake system that had never been used. It
was Gary, Jim, and the many other friendly people that got me through the day
with words of encouragement. I thank you all.

PS - I will retain the rookie "x's" on my car (albeit not as huge) at Blackhawk
and Road America.
