Read Uncle Jacks comment about racing with your son...someday Jack. (I hope)
Anyway, this weekend in Beautiful Downtown Stevens Point,(suburb of Plover)
the Worlds Largest Trivia Contest <http://www.easy-axcess.com/trivia/> is
being held. This 54 hour extravaganza has over 12,000 "players" and one of
the highlights of the weekend is the Kick-Off Parade, held on Friday afternoon.
Youngest son, Eric, a junior in High School, has been playing in this
contest for over 5 years, competeing against the best the world has to
offer.(No joke, teams from as far away as Australia come for this, there are
over 500 teams competing this weekend).
This year, Eric and his buddies decided to name their team (of 25 players)
Team Thicko, in honor of that World Famous Vintage Race Team.
TT outfitted these kids in flashy Team Thicko T-shirts and they went about
creating a "float" for the parade.
Pity the parents of the vehicle selected. They took a 1991 Ford AeroStar
van, (brown when new), painted it black, (thats right, PAINTED it), put a
red, white and blue stripe down the middle, and pulled the Team Thicko #55
Bugeye behind it(Black Bart at the wheel of the van...he's not THAT
stupid)in the parade. Oh yea, 15 decked out TT kids on/in the Bug and
trailer, throwing candy at the hoards and in general, having a blast. I
will post some pics of this on the web site, ASAP.
Well, of course this is a competition, with voting on the "floats".
I am proud of these kids....their efforts resulted in a SECOND place finish!
(Just like Dad)
Way to go Team Thicko!
