A couple of years ago I learned a trick for drilling holes in stainless steel
that works amazingly well. At work I frequently have to drill mounting holes
in stainless and it was always a job I disliked because it wrecked drill bits
and was hard to do. Then on a job site one day my customer told me about this
trick - use Dawn dish soap as a cutting fluid. When he told me I didn't
believe it. He ran over to their breakroom and came back with a bottle of
Dawn. He handed it to me and said try it. I squirted a couple of drops on the
punchmark on the stainless and started the drill. It went through almost like
soft steel! I couldn't believe it! Try it - you'll like it. :-)
