Michael,
It is my understanding that the adjustable oil pressure relief valve moves
the outer end of the spring in, thereby necessitating shortening of the
spring to keep the o.p at a normal level. Also, if you have replaced the
relief "piston" with a steel ball it is effectively longer than the piston
compounding the problem. I believe that Vizard mentions this.
