[Spridgets] BE Fuel Pump

It appears that the mechanical fuel pump on my BE died.  If I install a Facet
ele. pump can it push or pull through the old pump?  If not is there a
standard 
plate to cover the hole in the block? Where is the best place to put
the Facet? 
Where is the best place to put a new filter? Thanks, Skip
