You guys out West with hydropower could gain a lot of pollution credits from
such a car, but those in the Midwest with coal-fired power plants would have
a much smaller benefit. This car merely transfers the emissions point from
the engine to a power plant, just like electric cars. There should be
significant improvements in efficiency, but depending on the plant, the
benefit may not be as large as people think. There would be a large benefit
from replacing complicated batteries with simple pressure tanks.
By claiming the car runs on "free air," etc. they destroy all credibility
and endanger their cause, which is a good one.
