It's on my list of things to do, and has been for a while - the reason for
having one is not to directly prevent a fire as such but rather to switch
off the fuel pump in the event of an accident (assuming the engine stops in
the accident) and prevent a pool of petrol appearing which may become the
fire.

absence of oil pressure. In a Spridget, you could put one on a tee at
the OP takeoff and add a momentary toggle switch to allow starting the
car. Not hard to do.
