One other trick on windshield shims besides taping them together. I cut a slit
in each shim so that I could put all bolts in place and then could slide the
shim in from the backside. This turned it into a one person job. Now on a 66+
car with Roll Up windows, a second pair of hands is needed to pull the
windshield forward so that shutting the door with window up does not result in
windshield moving around. Not an issue with top down but once top is up and in
place becomes more difficult to close the door.
Also anyone know if windshield botls are different lengths. Having issues
getting DS tight and I think I'm running into an issue with top bolt going all
the way through and hitting sheet metal. Another washer will solve the problem
but a total PITA to get at it.
