Possibly someone in Illinois has been thru this before, and knows a good
attorney? You cannot be the only one that has faced this recently.
You should not have to reinvent the wheel in fighting your fight, and should
not have to fight it alone.
If there is not info here, google the internet using three or four words
that best sum up the subject.

Subject: [Spridgets] Bugeye Values
I guess I should feel complimented... I just had the privilege of picking up
a registered letter at the Post Office. The State of Illinois is telling me
that I lied to them when I registered the Bugeye. According to them, they
have "completed an independant valuation of the vehicle" (without ever
seeing it, of course) and determined that it must nbe worth $15,000 to
$19,999.99 so I must owe them $814 of additional tax, penalty, and interest.
I wonder if they would like to buy it at their own value instead??? This is
going to be fun? NOT!
