[Spridgets] Distributor drive spindle install

Is there something special or critical in how the drive spindle is inserted for 
the distibutor? I'm using a longish bolt to insert it into the hole, kinda 
feeling my way intil it slips into the hole in the boss in the block and the 
gears mate. Should I do something different?
