If you really want a BE, it is best to start with a BE. By the time
you get finished changing everything, you could have a nice, real BE.
If you are patient and wise, you can find a BE project.
Unless you don't like the 1/4 elip springs, then carry on. Even then,
though, it is probably wiser to start with a BE and do some mods.
