I certainly respect the greater experience of others as to cruise controls
and gas mileage. In my case its primarily to take the strain off my right
knee. Without a cruise control I'd have great difficulty with the three to
four all-day-drives needed to get to Missouri. After an hour or two it
begins to stiffen up and become painful. Being able to drop the leg and
relax it frequently helps a lot. I'm more than willing to trade the
difference in mileage for the ability to get out of the car when I get where
I'm going.
