Kate et al,
I agree on ID51 and NV 226 route!! However..... When you reach Sidney,
NE.... There is a Days Inn with a Perkins Rest. at I-80 Exit 59 at Sidney
right near the big Cabela's store, but I've never seen a Super 8 at
Sidney... Perkins is a chain rest. There are a couple of other decent
restaurants in town including Dude's Steakhouse, Jimmy's and Grandma
Jo's.... If you go a bit further east to Paxton, NE (just off I-80) there
is the world famous "Swede's" restaurant and bar which is a site to see!
Swede's is completely filled with a giganitc collection of stuffed animals
from all over the world. They have great food too.... Farther east,
get off I-80 at Lincoln, NE and go a mile south into town where you will
find Lazlo's brew pub and restaurant right near the University of Nebraska.
You drive right past the memorial stadium where the "Big Red" plays. That
stadium becomes the third larges population center in the state when the
Huskers are playing football at home... ;-)
Cheers!!
Jim
