OK...no LBC...just an LJC one. I just bought a 78 Toyota pick up...a
dually no less. My uncle bought it new in 78, converted the dually four
wheels in
the rear to two 15" extra wide rear wheels. He passed away some time ago
and my aunt just turned 89 and can't drive it any more, so I bought it from
her. 65K miles, still in pretty fair condition. I'm giving my F150 to my
grandson for Christmas, so I need something to haul my stuff in..
Anyway, apparently my aunt had a transmission problem a couple of years ago
and the mechanic's fix was to remove the 5 speed and install a 4 speed. It
worked well for my aunt who just puttered around town, but it buzzed a bit when
I drove it home to El Paso.
Anyone know what years 5 speeds fit the 20R engine in this 78? How tough to
change? Require engine removal? Are the transmissions as rare as old
Datsun 5 speends?

As he stared at her ample bosom, he daydreamed of the dual Skinners Union
carburetors in his vintage MG, highly functional yet pleasingly formed,
perched prominently on top of the intake manifold, aching for experienced
hands,
the small knurled caps of the oil dampeners begging to be inspected and
adjusted as described in chapter seven of the Haynes shop manual.
