Sounds like there is a need for a "MacLean Meeting".

Subject: [Spridgets] Oil Over Pressure
Well, I finally got the clutch problem somewhat solved, but now I
find the new 1275 is running at 90-100 psi in 5th gear at speed.
Even when cold, it is over 90 psi at idle. Of course this is shoving
lots of oil out of the rear main seal. Gerard built the bottom end
and he can not figure out what would cause this kind of over
pressure. The block is vented at the blanked off fuel pump boss with
a 1/2 inch fitting with a copper 1/2 inch pipe to a rubber hose and a
filter to vent to atmosphere. It also seems to be running kinda hot
after 20-25 minutes on the freeway, but that may be because it only
has 100 miles on the new engine.
Couple all the above with a sticking throttle, shudder in the drive
line when down shifting and rust starting to peep out of the fender
beading, I'm ready to just shove it off a cliff. I've spent a ton
of money on this car including the 1275/5 speed conversion and with
all these problems I just drove it into the garage and left it. I am
totally disheartened with it. Add to all this that I am having some
terrible back pain which is making it harder to work on all the time,
I don't know how much longer I can keep up with all it is going to
take to sort this car out. I don't even know if anyone would want to
buy it the way it is. Probably won't be seeing you guys at the 50th.
