Hello chuck,
different manufacturers?... one thing.... it was an old switch,
.. old switches had 'em on the ends... new ones have 'sm on the
sides.... most often, i think, on the newer ones, the screws
are color coded to tell you, or the instructions were on the
side of the box that you threw away.... or you got it at a
surplus type store in a bin with NO boxes at all.. .. in which
case you'll be replacing it again soon anyway. ...
the only way to be SURE is to use a meter to check BEFORE you
install.
