Did you get the Innovate LM-1?
The keys to soldering is to get the right tip, the right solder, and
the correct temp for the application. Get a good iron in the 20-30
watt range and some good rosin core solder. I use Portasol butane
irons for 99% of the stuff I do. It is like the difference between
cooking with gas vs. electric. Gas is much better. The good butane
irons are adjustable from like 10 to 50 watts. They have
interchangable tips that make things nice sometimes.
