To me, Torsen, viscous (or viscous coupling), and clutch type are different
forms of LSDs.
Quaiffe is a type of Torsen. Phantom grip is a sort of crude clutch type
which applies spring pressure to the spider gears and creates friction,
crude but effective. Viscous is like a goo filled torque converter. Clutch
types have clutch disks that provide friction and like the Phantom, just
discourage the planetary gears from turning.
Torsen LSDs have a bias set by the gear ratios.
