It seems to me that my point is being missed, intentionally or
otherwise. If a comment is made by anyone, American or otherwise,
about American politicians for example, someone will immediately ask
that it be taken off-list. We all have our own opinions, are entitled
to them, but do not necessarily have to share them with the world. We
can all be offended by something, we all have our own pet issues, but
it doesn't help to have one's firmly held beliefs or opinions treated
with disdain. It matters not to me the nationality of the disparager,
I'd prefer not to see it done in this forum.
Most Americans understand patriotism, all I ask is that we extend a
courtesy to other nations, and don't demean their icons, real or
imagined.
