Sorry, Billy. I missed this one, yesterday.
I confess I've never heard anyone complain about the Italian-built MIG
you speak of. However, if you aren't ahhh, knowledgeable of electrical
wizardry (like me, for example), access to parts may not get it done for
ya. I prefer that secure feeling of knowing that help is only as far
away as my local welding supply house.
Also (and I realize this may sound strange/hypocritical, coming from a
guy who's never owned an American car), I like the idea of supporting
American manufacturers who still produce a superb product (Lincoln,
Miller). OK. I've never bought an American car because they've never
built anything that I've wanted to own/they've ignored my marketing
"niche" (I'm talking cars, here, not trucks), or they quit producing the
car that I would, someday, actually buy (the Corvair springs to mind).
But, if you can't find a Lincoln or Miller welder that totally suits
your needs, and is well-built and very reliable; shame on you. True,
you'll pay a little more (or, maybe considerably more) for an American
made welder (unless you get one of the cheapies that Lincoln produced
for some of the "big-box" retailers.......which I DO NOT recommend
buying), but, I like to support some of the few American companies who
still produce quality products, MADE IN USA. They won't be around much
longer, I fear.

I've used the Lincolns, Millers, and Hobarts. I bought the little
Italian
MIG. I've been using it for thirteen years and it hasn't needed
servicing
yet, but parts are still available online. Local hardware stores carry
the
tips, etc.
