SU fuel pump R & R

Hello all,

        I am working on an SU Fuel Pump for an old SAAB.  I have no  
experience with them at all.  I have all the bits but I know that  
adjustment is the real bear.  I have the factory SU manual but no way  
to translate it into uhh.. American.  i have several old SAAB manuals  
but they seem to be  similarly difficult to understand.

        So, what tricks are there what pitfalls, what newbie mistakes?
