ron,
i just got home from sebring. i dusted off the cobwebs there! my enduro
was hectic as i can not relate! 70 to 80 cars on the grid! anything from
retired nascar type cars to corvettes and camaros! my only prayer was for
rain! i got my prayer answered! going down airport straight it was
raining and over the other side of the course it was dry! i blew off a
stingray roadster on the front straight in my saab. i started to
misfire due to water in my cap and pulled in and my co-driver ed
diehl(tulius group 44 and corvette grand sport driver) was ready to take
over when they red flagged the race due to serious lightening and winds!
some of the 12 hour teams had serious damage to their electric equiptment
and canopies due to the severity of the storm!
my car came home still running and unscathed. but what a race friday with
a zillion MGA's on course! i passed two of them , wich for my car is a
great feat! but almost 2500 miles of towing has me very burned out!
just glad to be home and safe....
chuck.
