Is there an isolating plastic washer on the bottom of the points stem? If so
that is my problem. When I took the old one apart I must have dropped it out.
And there was not a new one in the package. Yes it is a Lucas part in the Green
package. And yes I agree it is a total and I mean a total POS.

If any parts are in a green Lucas box or Lucas India, throw them out
before you open them.
