A long time ago someone with a lot of time on their hands did some 
calculations from the JC Whitney catalog.
A small block V8 with everything from the catalog would put out 0ver 
1000 horse power while getting 400 miles per gallon.
Or some such astronomical numbers.
This was based on % of HP and ,ileage increases with all the goodies 
they sold at the time. circca early 70s
