How about a loose intake manifold or loose carburetor. Bugsy's manifold came
loose and idle kept getting faster and faster. At 3,500 RPM I finally pulled
him into garage. Did lots of poking around and finally heard a sucking sound.
Voila, a few bolts tightened and all was well again.
