74 Midget Wiper/Washer Swtich To Control Ejector Seat?

Hi,
The lever on the right of a 74 Midget has two functions, right?
Up/Down turns the wipers on/off.
Pressing the end of the lever toward the column operates the washer pump.
What does moving the lever to and fro (toward and away from the dash) do?
I've racked my brain and looked at the schematic.
Hopefully I am missing something simple.  Please enlighten me.
