Thanks for all the suggestions.  I received a picture of Franks's  
competition car and noticed one change that I made that may be of some  
interest.
The parking light lens always popped off when I hit it with my leg going  
around the car.  I replaced that cone shaped glass with one from my 100-4  
which 
is fairly flat.  I also had to replace the inner socket as the bulb  was too 
long with a flat lens.  
This would apply mainly to those of us without a front bumper.
Just my .02.
