I just reversed the positions on my Mk2. Seems like I had to hog out
one of the dash holes a little. I never could figure out why they were
so odd-ball in the first place....being so tough to pull. Everything
works really well now.

On ALL but the MKII Sprites, the choke was a straight shot from the dash
to the carb. It was close to the steering wheel.
On the Bugeye, the "S" (starter) cable was on the right side and was a
straight shot to the solenoid.
But for some unknown reason, the MKII Sprite have the choke and starter
cables reversed. So they are not only on the WRONG side of the dash,
they have to criss cross under the bonnet.
This makes then harder to pull and quicker to wear out.
I can not explain it, maybe some MKII owners can.
Or is this another one of those mistakes like the upside down air
clearners in Horler's book?
