Has anyone seen the documentary on DVD called "Yanks Tanks"?
"Yanks Tanks" via Amazon.com for a bit less than 20 bucks new.
I just it today.
The imagination and industry of this underground network of mechanics is
absolutely fascinating. It seems that there are no problems that these
mechanics
are not able to conquer to keep their cars on the road - a real testament to
the human spirit.
They build their own foundaries and use wire from chain link fences for
welding rod.
One guy has a business where he takes old windshields reforming them in a
home made kiln to fit other types of cars. Another guy makes drum brake shoes
from scratch (in spite of the asbestos that he is subjected to).
There is also some never seen before footage from the Cuban National
Television Network.
Just thought I pass it along - a truly fascinating documentary.
