While getting tires for my jet ski trailer last week, I mentioned that
the tires for my CAR were originally not much bigger than the one I
had just purchased. I asked if he had any source for 145-13 tires, and
he feels it could possibly be done. He showed me the original Ford
tires they had ordered reproduced for an old 30's truck they have in
front of the store. It is a wide whitewall, with the correct Ford
script on the tire as well.
Are there enough folks out there that may be interested in committing
to having a batch of 145-13 tires made? The company is Coker Tire out
of Tennesse, and the store will let me know if they will consider
doing it, and how many would need to be ordered. I also mentioned that
the Dunlop name on them would make them more appealing to members of
this list. I assume that is correct, is it not?
Anyway, perhaps Just Brits could keep a counter on his site for folks
to go to and enter an amount. I am certain that if our commitment
numbrs were high enough, we could get this accomplished.
As one who has never had the chance to drive a Spridget with the
original tires on it, were they better for handling than what is
available now?
